A Bite of Laney

Those of you who know me are aware of my vast experience in the food industry. Starting at 12 years of age a driver would pick me up after school and bring me to one of my father’s restaurants to work. Although it was not appreciated at the time my love of the business grew. Working for my father until the age 18 when I went away to school every aspect of the restaurateur’s life from 4am to 10pm was drilled into my brain.t A few years after school in Boston I was married and moved to Florida. Not much later I opened my own restaurant in downtown Orlando. Guess what? How lucky I was that all the years of working for my family, unpaid, and very resentful I was suddenly very appreciative and unbelievably happy. This led to catering, party and event planning and so on. All this information is being shared with you to understand me better. I love everything having to do with food! The title of my Articles for betchaim.org will alert you to everything and anything about food that I want to share with you.

BUT it also means I will give you A Bite of Laney on many other topics too. I hope you will help me to make this section of betchaim.org interactive. Ask questions about foods or anything! Share some of your secrets and recipes and anything else that excites, concerns, pleases or irks you. If I don’t have the correct answer I will hunt for it. Don’t worry you don’t have to include your name, age, sex or shoe size. Just your thoughts. Like me, just because you cannot physically make it to Shabbat services is no reason to be totally disconnected to the Congregation. Join me and become more than just a name! Looking forward to getting to know you better. B’Shalom.
